Invercargill Volunteer Fire Brigade Part I

A number of years ago I was lucky enough to be able to go along and document the training nights of the Invercargill Volunteer Fire Brigade. It was an honor to be included into their midst as they trained for what may lay in store during real call outs. From vegetation fires, car fires, buildings filled with smoke and chemical spills, the men and women of this tight knit team are put through their paces to keep their skills sharp in order to protect their community. Although I didn’t actively participate in the training, I felt included and learned something each time and have nothing but the utmost respect for them and others in this field of work.
The images from this training night were taken at Northwood Estate in Invercargill.
